“I have been taking one on one Danish lessons with Mette Heitmann since April 2020. I wanted to use the COVID-19 lock down time for something positive and focus on really learning Danish. Mette was suggested by some friends, so I thought I would give her a try.
I have been extremely happy with her and her teaching style. She has adapted the lesson plans to focus on my needs. Our discussions are a blend of daily life, current topics and workbooks that keep the learning interesting and relevant. She pushes me when needed (especially on the pronunciations), but is also very positive and encouraging at the same time.
I highly recommend Mette if you are looking for someone to teach you to speak and really learn Danish. I have taken group classes with Studieskolen and also private lessons with Berlitz. Mette is by far the best fit.
My schedule is always changing, so it is super helpful that Mette is flexible and able to work around my needs.”
Yannick Dupont, Educational Concept Designer, Content Creator, Interactive Play Expert, writer.
“I met Mette when I was in need of help. I struggled to speak Danish even after I have spent seven years living here.
I began a process with Mette and eight months later, I can speak Danish.
Mette is a really good teacher; very patient and funny. I recommend Mette to anyone looking for an effective way to learn Danish.”

“It gives me great pressure to recommend Mette as a Danish language teacher.
Mette has a very unique approach to teaching Danish, which one will never be able to find in any of the Danish language Schools. Her approach is based on the “melody” which Mette will explain in depths in your first meeting with her.
Her teaching is very structured. You always get feedback at the end of each session, recommendations for improvement and homework that’s tailored to your weaknesses. She is flexible when it comes to scheduling and very accommodating.
I contacted her because I needed to secure certain grades for passing the PD3. Mette helped me a lot to achieve my goal and beyond. I ended up scoring 12,12 and 12 in all three disciplines. I enjoyed all of my sessions with Mette. I highly recommend her, if you are looking for ways to help improve your Danish language beyond what is offered at the language schools. will help you integrate easily and smoothly with the Danish society.
Thank you, Mette”

“I had Mette as my private Danish teacher during the summer of 2017. Mette were quick to identify where my Danish could improve and our sessions focused heavily on improving those parts. Mette also made every class unique and interesting which made me look forward towards every class. What I valued the most though was the flexibility of the sessions and her focus on melody and sounds of speaking the Danish language. This is why I can highly recommend Mette”
Mauricio Duarte, CEO Gehls Architecs Denmark

She gives me a feeling of going on a journey exploring the language. This is very valuable if you want to learn such a difficult language. I made great progess in 6 months, and this would not have been possible in a language school. I really recommend Mette”

“Lessons with Mette have been always interesting and productive
Due to a project in Denmark I took the possibility having one-to-one lessons with Mette. Although my time schedule was mostely really tight, Mette was very flexible fitting me into hers.Lessons were covering both, daily life including interesting historical background of Denmark and business related subjects. Nevertheless it was always possible to come up with own topics and Mette was looking forward to prepare something for the next lesson. From the beginning on Mette made a point of correct pronunciation, probably the most demanding part of the Danish language. So after a couple of hours I was able to follow smaller conversations in daily life. When you are looking for an individual training in the Danish language, I recommend Mette without hesitation.
